Mission Hills is one of the neighborhoods in greater San Diego which is primarily residential in nature, and which is situated east of Old Town, south of Mission Valley, and west of the community of Hillcrest. From almost anywhere in Mission Hills, it’s possible to obtain some fantastic views of downtown San Diego, San Diego Bay, and Old Town itself. It’s very much a family-oriented neighborhood, and it tends to be relatively affluent in terms of the lifestyle of most of its residents.

While visiting Mission Hills, you should definitely take in the Cinema Under the Stars, which is a new movie viewing experience akin to going to a drive-in, although this outdoor theater is equipped with Surround Sound and a 2- foot screen that projects HD-quality films. Pioneer Park is another must-see attraction, with endless grassy fields, and a wonderful natural setting available for singles, families, pets, and anyone with an appreciation for nature. It’s also the site where a great many summertime concerts are staged on Fridays for both visitors and locals.

A great deal of media attention has been given to the Brooklyn Girl restaurant, because it was voted one of the 10 best cultural restaurants in the entire city, even though it is primarily a casual American restaurant. One of the reasons it has become so popular is that it features a farm to table service which offers all the best in locally grown products, and that includes locally crafted wines and beers. It is consistently rated very highly by visitors, and virtually everyone has a fantastic dining and drinking experience here.
