If you’re looking for the biggest concentration of shops in San Diego, visit downtown La Jolla Village, specifically along Prospect Street and Girard Avenue. If you can’t find what you’re looking for in this neighborhood, you’re just not looking hard enough.
Beaches
La Jolla is home to some of the finest beaches on the West Coast, and even if you’re not a swimmer or water sports enthusiast, you’ll love the endless photo opportunities at some of these awesome beaches. Wipeout Beach is known for its excellent surfing and tidepools, which are great for exploring with your kids. For those who prefer a more secluded setting, the Marine Street Beach is great for sunbathing, but also provides some huge waves for those who enjoy surfing. Torrey Pines State Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the area, and it’s loaded with amenities, so it’s ideal for taking the whole family there for a day, to enjoy some swimming, shellfishing, surfing, and spectating.

There are all kinds of tours available in the La Jolla area, and something to suit every taste. For food lovers, there are restaurant tours where you’ll get a taste of what the area has to offer. For explorer types, you can arrange for a tour of the nearby Pacific Ocean, and all the sea creatures which inhabit the area, or you can setup a snorkeling adventure to see it all, close-up and personal.
